Ryder is the first of a revived initiative from heaven designed to fight the rising tide of demonic deals being made by mortals. So heaven began making deals too, offering worthy yet purgatory or hell bound souls a chance of redemption by serving heaven as Nephilim.

Now he walks the desolate earth as a hooded wanderer, marching through the wasteland striking down evil and breaking demon deals as he goes.

Ryder is a tall and muscular man,

Ryder is a troubled soul with a pure heart of good intentions.

Danica Isidora

Danica Isidora is a human who began hunting demons after her father was posessed by a demon and killed the rest of her family, leaving her mysteriously unharmed.

Camael is the Chief of the Powers and is of the Angels of the second sphere of Heaven. She was the Angel who made the deal with Ryder to send him back to earth as a Nephilim in order to serve heaven and save his soul from eternal torment.

Metatron is the Scribe of God and is of the Angels of the first sphere of Heaven. He is one of the few Angels permitted to look upon the true countenance of god and acts as his voice to those unable to withstand its majesty.

Gabriel an archangel and is one of the Angels in the thrid sphere of Heaven. Whilst being low in the angelic heirachy Gabriel is extremely influencial in within the horde of heaven. He was given the role of being a Hand of God, acting as God's messenger to the most important mortals in history. As such he is considered by most to be one of the most important angels in Heaven.

Nephilim Abilities

Ryder's Nephilim abilities stem from the deal he made Camael, Chief of the Powers. Powered by the "Grace" bestowed upon him from the deal, he is able to draw upon great supernatural powers to fight evil. The more evil he vanquishes the greater his grace becomes.

However as he is no longer human he is no longer able to confess his sins for absolution. Therefore any sins he commits must be atoned for by a diminishment in grace. The greater the sin, the greater the loss of grace. If he ever lost all his grace Ryder would be instantly damned to hell for all eternity.

Supernatural Condition

Ryder's Nephilim condition makes him glaringly, obviously and unnaturally superior over the rest of the human race. His capabilities are pushed to the superhuman level; making him immensely stronger, faster, durable and smarter than normal humans can be achieve by any method of training.

Extrasensory Perception

Ryder has the power to acquire psychic knowledge primarily by intrinsic means. This is the ability to know something without a physical explanation why you know it. This includes being able to: perceive emotions and emotional imprints, sense the prescence of evil, see the true face of demons and hear their true voice.

Ryder has the ability to move somewhere without physically traveling, all he has to do is think of a destination and he can appear there at will. Ryder's ability to teleport is acutally the use of his "wings" to move himself from one place to another as to use his wings he becomes momentarily incorporeal during which he subconsiously uses his wings to move. When is physical contact with another person his is able to pull them along with them, but this is extremely difficult.

After a great ammount of training Ryder becomes able to temporarily attach a feather to another person, allowing him to teleport them separately from himself. However the effect is short lived lasting a few minutes at most before failing. This technique only works on another soul and so is ineffective on inanimate objects and demons.

While to most teleportation may seem like a mere travel ability, it can actually be an extremely valuable power when used offensively and defensively. Offering superiority in terms of movement speed and distance coverage, a skilled strategist/tactician can use it for many innovative manners.

Ryder can, under the right circumstances, remove the darkness and evil from a person or objects. Including demon possession or mind control. The power can turn evil to good or merely make someone pure.

Ryder can restore biotic organisms to their optimal health, curing broken or withered organisms, wounds, broken bones, low vitality, and diseases/poisoning. Though Ryder may potentially heal any form of bodily damage, the patient must be alive, even if hanging by a thin thread, in order to be healed; once the patient has died, it would transcend healing and would require resurrection instead.

Ryder can manipulate objects with his mind. However his ability is fairly weak and can only move small object over reletively short distances.

Ryder has become able to read and use Enochian Angel Glyphs. The glyphs are the language of Angels and are central to the use of heavenly power beyond what they are able to do with their abilities alone.

Supernatural Combat Proficiency

Ryder's supernatural combat abilties stem from his condition as a Nephilim. Allowing him to draw upon the combat skills of The Powers. However the use of this skill is extremely taxing and makes him exhausted after each use.

The Blade Of The Lost

Blade Of The Lost

The Blade Of The Lost is a sword forged by Angels in the fires of purgatory as a test of the resolve of the souls being purified. The blade can only strike those who are unclean and wracked with sin, it cannot strike an innocent or honourable soul and will merely pass through them, thus making it the perfect weapon to fight evil.

When the blade comes into contact with a demon, depending on its power, it will either be forced to leave the human's body or die. Ryder is one of the few beings in the universe capable of weilding the blade for more than a moment, this is due to his unique nature of being mortal and posessing grace. The others capable of doing so being the Angels in Purgatory.

Mateba 6 Unica Hunter

Mateba 6 Unica

Ryder carries a Mateba 6 Unica Hunter that fires .454 Casull rounds, which he uses modifies into Silver Tip Hollow Points, Halite Tip Hollow Points and Pure Iron rounds. Ryder makes his own ammunition at 240 grain strength and loading different varieties for specific opponents. Each round takes advatage of their weaknesses by taking into account and using the substances they are weak to.

Mortal Life

During his mortal life Ryder was nothing special beyond being human. He was not a valiant hero, specially talented, specially skilled or anything more than an ordinary man. He had never truly been a believer in god, dismissing it as unprovable as most of the modern world did.

In a moment of selflessness Ryder threw himself before a deadly danger saving a life in the process, dying with a weapon in his hand. Unable to ask for forgiveness with deadly and venal sins on his soul, he was bound for hell. However his act of selflessness allowed him to be drawn into purgatory by an Angel.

Recieving The Deal

As his soul was drawn to purgatory where Ryder was met by Camael, the angel chief of the Powers (Angels of the second sphere of Heaven). Due to his act of selfless sacrifice Ryder was offered a deal to remdeem his soul. To become a Nephilim and fight for Heaven against the rising tide of demons and demon deals until the seals of Hell were restored.

Ryder jumps at the chance to save his soul from eternal torment. Taking the deal

Wandering The World

  • The appearance chosen for Ryder is Ian Somerhalder when he had a beard.
  • The idea of how Ryder became a Nephilim came from Ezekiel 32:27. Where he speaks of "the fallen mighty (gibborim nophlim, גִּבֹּורִים נֹפְלִים) of the uncircumcised, which are gone down (yardu, יָרְדֽוּ) to the grave with their weapons of war"; a change to the vowels would produce the reading gibborim nephilim.
